A little more about myself & how I got where I am…
With a passion for the internet, marketing and web design it was obvious to my peers that a career in internet marketing would suit me best.
With help from a friend I was lucky enough to get a “junior website designer” job at a small Internet marketing firm – Canda Systems, and life was good! The company comprised of myself and 8 other members and as a small company we provided a wide range of internet marketing services to a broad range of clients.
After serving almost 2 years with Canda designing and optimising numerous websites, I decided it was time advance my career ans after experiencing first hand how rewarding internet marketing was I started providing freelance seo consutlancy to the creation of the original, www.seomysite.co.uk
After Canda I decided I moved on, I applied for several marketing positions around the country. After several web design job offers, I decided to advance to an ineternet marekting agency called WebWatchUK, as an SEO manager for over 70 clients. At the time I thought this would be very challenging, and indeed it was. Before I knew it I was not only managing the organic search of client websites but the most of the pay-per-click marketing too. Proficient in Ad words, Google Analytics & Organic ranking techniques clients were increasingly happy with the level of good quality traffic I was achieving for them, and this was at the age of 19!
Whilst still working a full time job at both Canda and Webwatch I was still confident on starting up my own freelance business and providing web promotion the way that I wanted to. Seo My Site began to grow, slowly, time was an issue! Many nights you would find me glued to my laptop with match sticks holding my eyes open, but I was determined to make this work! Sure enough, to this day, I am receiving frequent enquires for both website designs & seo online promotion.
After just under a year at WebWatch UK, I decided that I wanted to see the world, in particular Australia, so left theWebWatch UK on excellent terms and headed out to Brisbane, where I decided I would travel the east coast then afterward try my luck at finding work and sponsorship in Australia.
After 2 months of traveling I was being hassled by Australian recruiters on a weekly basis. One of which placed on a 3 month SEO and SEM consultant contract with Universal McCann, one of the worlds largest media agencies. I enjoyed life at UM an I especially craved working with blue chip clients. However, due to a hiring freeze at the time my prospects of full time position dwindled, so decided I again to travel, this time only for 4 weeks while recruiters found me something knew.
After working breifly at another leading SEO agency, I began working a wonderful company called Switched On Media, who are as passionate as me when it comes to search, which is just what I’ve been looking for.
